All-Set! Editions is the brainchild of Toronto musician Mike Smith. Dedicated to releasing sounds from Toronto’s left-field music scene, we aim to cover everything from bent song-craft to wobbly synthesis, with frequent stops between and beyond. All-Set! Editions’ regular release schedule will bring the sounds of the downtown underground to the ears of curious bystanders wherever they may be.

“Smith's naturally playful sensibility is on full display, but an unexpectedly different flavour seeps into the album on occasion. With salsa a key part of its blend, Smith's solo outing proves to be most unusual, never an unwelcome thing in this neck o' the woods.” - Ron Schepper, textura.org
Mike Smith returns with a large group that brings together the woozily whimsical synthesizer noodling of Transcombobulation with the intricate, multi-layered compositions of his long-running Muskox project. Enlisting an impressive crew of far out musicians from Toronto and beyond, Famous Wildlife Movies demonstrates Smith’s characteristic stylistic infidelity, warped rhythmic playfulness, and irreverently anachronistic aural appetite, all mixed with a heavy dose of the Mothers circa ’68.
“Aurochs was at once disconcerting and inspiring as they wound their way through a set that spanned song and minimalism.” - Nilan Perera, Exclaim!
Aurochs returns with a new record to follow 2014's Rational Animals. This time out, Toronto's slow-prov progenitors offer a side-long expansion of the classic piano trio sound, with fresh new member Mike Smith aboard to add psychedelic electronic figurations to the mix. Recorded by Barnyard Records mastermind Jean Martin, Aurochs delivers a 45 minute gradually-unfolding piece inspired by dub reggae, American minimalism, and 1970s krautrock.
"The five electronic-and-acoustic hybrids on Margins pull into their orbit minimalism, funk, prog, krautrock, and, yes, even jazz as they unfold with the precision of a Swiss timepiece… See Through 5 sound pretty much unlike anything else out there at the moment." Ron Schepper, Textura
See Through 5 returns with the follow-up to Utilities, offering another slice of chamber-prog from the heart of Toronto. Primarily a studio project, the music on Margins extends composer Pete Johnston’s interests in counterpoint, polyrhythm, and improvisation into an accessible realm by grafting these frameworks onto a rock framework. The five tunes on Margins are a kind of minimalism-informed take on the rhythms of contemporary electronic dance music and the melodies of 1970s progressive rock.
“…Some clever duelling on the basses makes this a most unusual and unique piece of contemporary jazz… a quiet symphony for the brain.” Marty Delia, The Jazz Music Blog
Slow Bend is the debut recording by See Through Two, which is composed of Rob Clutton (bass and banjo) and Pete Johnston (bass). Formed in 2013, See Through Two play original compositions for two basses, with a few tunes featuring other instruments Pete and Rob play (or at least were able to borrow). This recording features nine compositions by Pete Johnston that afford plenty of space for improvisation and general low end theorizing.
